Woohoo! a new uptime record for my Win XP laptop

| | Comments (1) | TrackBacks (0)

I just noticed my laptop was turned on 5 days and 4 hours ago (yes, it's Friday today, and yes, I do work Sundays). Now, if only I could work for that long without a rest....

Why so long? I've been doing a little work from home in the evenings. Leaving my laptop plugged in at work means I can connect to it over the Internet and use my home PC to control my laptop in the office (broadband isn't quite quick enough for some of the database work I've been doing. Controlling a computer uses far less bandwidth so leaving my laptop in the office means I can use all it's software from home. "Remote Desktop Connection" is a standard windows XP feature).

Yes i too have left my laptop on for over 7 days and 1 hour. It started to run slightly slow in loading programs.
but i'll wait and see how long it can go on for without needing a complete reboot.
